ARLINGTON, Texas – Oscar nominees for Best Picture 2011 were
recently announced and include the Texas-shot movie “The Tree of
Life” which stars Brad Pitt and Sean Penn. During production,
Prairie Pictures producer and cinematographer Martin Lisius worked with the
film’s producer Sarah Green and director Terrence Malick to help visually
recreate the deadly 1953 Waco,
Texas tornado. StormStock
imagery shot by Lisius on 35mm, including tornadoes, storm clouds and
lightning, was selected to combine with locations filmed by the production in Austin.
